What days are you open?
We are only open for Pre-Order Contactless Pick up + Delivery. All orders must go through our website in advance to be fulfilled - https://order.cakeandloaf.ca/ - This is the safest measure we can take for our customers and employees at this time.
Offering - cookies, bars, breads, pies (sweet and savoury), cakes, coffee gear and merch.
However we do bake some EXTRA! EXTRA! on the days we have available for pick up. These items will be available for same day WALK UP - payment by debit or credit only. Find out what's available on social media stories and posted on a sign outside the shop.

All ordering opens FRIDAYS 6PM for the next week on the curbside pick up site - order.cakeandloaf.ca or by selecting the ORDER NOW button on our main page

Do you offer delivery?
Yes we do, when you Go to our Curbside Menu at cakeandloaf.ca- Found by clicking the "ORDER NOW" button at or online at order.cakeandloaf.ca - The first question you are asked is if you would like PICK UP or DELIVERY.
Prices range from $5-$40 depending on distance. Areas include: Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Grimsby, Dundas, Ancaster, BInbrook, Burlington.
Why does it say sold out or why can't I see most products?
The ordering window for that product may be closed or sold out.

How do I cancel my order?
PRODUCTS: We require 3 days notice BEFORE day of pick up for all cancellation, this does not include cakes (please see below).
Please email hello@cakeandloaf .ca within the notice period and we will remedy the situation with full refund directly to the card you used at point of purchase.
CAKES: We require 6 days notice BEFORE day of pick up for all cake cancellations. Please email cakes@cakeandloaf .ca within the notice period and we will remedy the situation with full refund.
Why aren't you answering the phones as much?
With a 1/3 the staff at the moment, we don't have as many people in the bakery. And all staff is practicing safe distancing, meaning there are barely any overlaps. We do apologize for not being to answer as frequently but please don't hesitate to leave a voice message and it will be returned as soon as possible Thurs-Sat during our pick up hours..
What about emails?
Same as above, we do apologize if it is taking a little longer to get back to you. We no longer have any office staff and are asking bakers and makers to monitor emails. We thank you for your patience and will be sure to respond as soon as possible. If it is regarding a cake, please not that the only cakes that are available are the ones offered on our ordering platform https://order.cakeandloaf.ca/ - we are hopeful that this will be able to change as time progresses : )
Do you have vegan products?
We do have a large variety of sweet and savoury vegan products although we are not exclusively vegan. Please see our online ordering for details https://order.cakeandloaf.ca/ - all vegan items are marked
with a Pink Vegan Tag!
Do you have gluten-free products?
We are not a gluten free facility. Flour is in our bakery. We have some items, like our amazing Sleepy G Granola Bars, that do not contain gluten but we cannot guarantee that anything made in the bakery has not come in contact with flour.
Do you have nut-free products?
No. We use a lot of nuts in the bakery and cannot guarantee that anything made in the bakery has not come in contact with peanuts or other nuts.
Do you have seating or service inside the store?
We do not have seating in the Dundurn bakery and are currently only offering Pre-Order Curbside Pick up. However we do bake some EXTRA on the days we have available for pick up. These items will be available for same day WALK UP - payment by debit or credit only. Find out what's available on social media stories and posted on a sign outside the shop.
There are benches and some seating outside, please be aware of social distancing at all times.
I have a C+L Plastic Card Giftcard, how do I use that online?
We can provide you with a custom one time use Promo Code to use online at check out. As this is a one time use code, please let us know if you would like it to be divided in any way.
Please email hello@cakeandloaf .ca - give your name (first and last) and the #'s on your plastic giftcard located on the back of the card - we can check the balance and create a Promo code for you. Complete with instructions on use.
Do you do custom cakes?
Currently, we do not offer full custom cakes, but we are sure you will find something you love within our BUTTERCREAM COLLECTION CAKES - items like colours and sprinkles can be changes to your event theme.
I’d like to order a cake! How do I get started?

How much notice do you need to order cakes?
All Cake orders must be placed on our Online Curbside Ordering plateform. Pre-Ordering Window opens on
FRIDAYS AT 6PM - TUESDAYS 5PM - while quantities last. This is for the following week for Thursday - Saturday Pick up.
You can order up to 3 months in advance!
Can I customize my cake?
At this time unfortunately we are unable to offer our custom cakes due to staffing. All Cake orders must be placed on our Online Curbside Ordering plateform. Pre-Ordering Window opens on Saturdays at 2pm and Closes Tuesday at 5pm - while quantities last. We have a number of options available listed under our BUTTERCREAM COLLECTIONS https://order.cakeandloaf.ca/
How do I cancel my cake order?
We require 6 days notice before day of pick up for all cake cancellations. Please email cakes@cakeandloaf .ca within the notice period and we will remedy the situation on case by case situation - outlining all options available.
Why are some cake boxes taped open when I pick up my cake?
All of our cakes are quite tall – 5-5.5″ tall for most and we have been trying to source out proper boxes for the past 2 years. Most of the box companies we found offered appropriate boxes for our height but the price per unit was outlandishly high. We are still on the hunt!
In the meantime, please know that having the box open slightly shouldn’t be an issue and we can alter the box in some way to cover completely upon request. Custom cakes are more challenging as they may be 2-4 tiers or have appliqués on top.
Do you take credit/debit?
For WALK UP purchases only. All other orders must go through our online system for pre-orders. Online ordering accepts - Visa Debit and Credit Cards.
