This includes, but is not limited to, use on social media, in store or on any other promotional/marketing material. We reserve the right to use these photos without client compensation or permission. -
Can you recreate a cake design that we found online? We create custom cakes and prefer not to copy others artistic designs. We will use your provided photographs as inspiration but will create our own cake based in this inspiration. In order to make you aware of all intended details, we prefer to email cake quotes and orders to clients so that there will be minimal misunderstanding regarding what they will be getting. All elements of your cake/cupcakes is handmade and is always subject to our individual artistic interpretation. When creating a cake, we might make minor decorative changes in order to better the aesthetic. We always try to do this with notice but may not be successful with getting in touch with the client before the cake needs to be completed.

We use only real, wholesome ingredients with no preservatives. We recommend eating your cake within 2-4 days for optimal freshness (if stored and served properly). If you would like to freeze the top tier of the cake we recommend the following: Chill the cake in the fridge until it is firm to the touch Wrap the cake well in plastic wrap so that it air-tight You may choose to also wrap the cake in a layer of tin foil When you’re ready to eat the cake, defrost the cake for at least 24 hours in the fridge ENJOY!

Can we bring in our own cake decoration elements? We are able to accept any non-edible item to be used on your cake/cupcakes/other baked goods. This includes but is not limited to toppers and ribbons. Toppers – Please provide your topper no sooner than 2 weeks before or later then 1 week before your delivery or pick up date. (please include your name, phone number and date of cake order when dropping off your topper) If you are not dropping off your topper please be sure to have the topper left at the cake table for us to put on when we arrive with your delivery. Ribbon – If you are needing a colour of ribbon that we do not already have, we ask that you provide it. We will give you proper instructions as to what width and length you will need depending on the needs of the specific order. Fresh floral – We ask that the client provides the floral so that it is exactly what you would like and will match your theme/colours. We are unable to accept the flowers ahead of time at the bakery. Please have the flowers left at the cake/dessert table by your florist so that they are ready for us to put onto your cake when we arrive. If the flowers are not easily visible for us and we cannot easily find them, we will not be able to place the flowers on the cake/cupcakes/baked goods for you. Can you colour match your buttercream or fondant? When a colour swatch, invitation or photo of a colour is sent over email, we are seeing your colour(s) from multiple device screens so colours may vary and come out differently from your original requested colours. This is due to devices having different brightness settings or the camera or device used to upload your picture may skew the tone. If you would like a closer replica of colours, please drop off a physical swatch 3 days in advance and we can do a physical side by side colour match (please include your name, phone number and date of cake order when dropping off your colour swatch). In all cases, we will use our best judgment for matching but can never guarantee a complete match.
-
What special considerations should I take for my outdoor Wedding/Event?We never recommend having any baked good sit out in the natural elements (this includes but is not limited to heat, direct sunlight, rain and humidity or wind). If you ARE having an outdoor event and wish to have your cake/cupcakes/baked goods displayed outdoors we would highly recommend you have the cake/cupcakes/baked goods stay indoors until the very last minute. This will help to mitigate any potential hazards that may be present at your outdoor event. Any damage to a cake/cupcakes/baked goods after drop off (and set up if applicable) by Cake & Loaf is not the responsibility of Cake & Loaf. Any damage to a cake/cupcakes/baked goods after pick up at Cake & Loaf by the client is not the responsibility of Cake & Loaf.

Do you offer vegan wedding cake options.Yes. Please refer to our cake menu to view the current seasonal vegan cakes available.
-
Can you acommodate egg and dairy allergies? We DO offer egg and dairy free cakes. These are our completely vegan cakes and cupcakes. We bake everything from scratch in our kitchen and often with ingredients that contain potential allergens. Certain products may not contain allergens but there is always a chance that cross contamination has occurred as we are not a dairy and egg free facility. Please note: Vegan buttercream cannot get as smooth as our regular Swiss meringue buttercream so you may notice more air bubbles and texture than normal. Because of this, fondant on top of vegan buttercream cannot get as smooth as we would like so you may notice more some of the vegan fondant textures coming through the fondant. If you insist on having fondant over your vegan buttercream, you may notice air bubbles develop under the fondant over time. We are not responsible for any damage to any of the cake created from the air bubbles as we have recommended that you not choose this design element.
-
Do you offer gluten-free cakes?Due to our small space, we are not able to have a separate gluten free kitchen.
