Creating the Gayest Cake Ever!

Dec 2017

So, in partnership with Chris Farias, we may have caused a little buzzy buzz in

Hamilton, ON, Canada and around the Globe...

You may have seen this bright, rainbow-coloured, golden extravaganza light up the

internet on many different news and personal platforms - this cake demanded attention and that's exactly what it got!

BUZZFEED ,  Pink News UK ,  HuffPost  ,  HuffPost Canada  , Daily Dot , PopSugar , Hamilton Spectator , The Advocate , 93 FRESH FM , Germany - Linda Nieuws.NL ,  DataLounge  , Yahoo Lifestyle

Chris approached us with his request for the "gayest cake ever" and we did not hesitate

for one second. This cakes design and creation was approached with much love and acceptance, by our  talented cake decorator - Quinn Pallister.  The vision was to

encompass love, acceptance, pride and the love of both Chris + Jared as they celebrate their anniversary and prepare for their up coming nuptials!  This request was extra meaningful for Quinn, who's mom married her wife just 2 years ago - The concept of Love is Love couldn't be stronger in her family.

Cake and Loaf Bakery believes in creating a safe environment for our customers and employees, where inclusion, positivity and community support are at the forefront. We say it loud and proud, and whenever possible... with cake!!

In celebrating my engagement to Jared Lenover (It's been a year... 8 months till the big day!!) I wanted to get him a cake to celebrate (he loves cake...as do I!). So I called my local bakery,  @cakeandloafbakery and requested the GAYEST cake they could make.Without hesitation, and with much excitement, they said I'll do it!!! This is what I got. I am in tears right now I'm so happy. Being part of the LGBTQ+ community isn't easy for many. And that's an huge understatement. But I am proud of who I am, and how fare WE have come. I am proud to be a gay Canadian who can order a cake and not get turned down because of who I love. I love this country, and I love my community. If you believe that #LoveIsLove, please share, and show our neighbours to the south that we support them. That we empathize with their struggles. That Canada is loud and proud and will make them any cake their heart desires.

We created a t-shirt with Chris and the a generous donation from Fly Print last year and all the proceeds went to the Aids Network, this year all the proceeds will be going to THE UNICORN FUND.
